Being committed to providing spiritually centered mentoring, holistic care, which sustains and improves the health of individuals in the communities we service, with special attention to the impoverished and vulnerable veterans and ex-prisoners. It is the hope and vision of Ambassadors for Truth to provide hope to individuals who currently see no way to achieve success, to finally be able to change their lives and have the support they need to have a better life.
Any prisoner facing release and reintegration into society faces many obstacles. Society is constantly changing and if you are put back out in the world, without any resources,it becomes even more difficult. More than 700,000 prisoners are released back into society each year. A positive attitude along with support resources can be the start of a promising new life. This is what our organization seeks to provide. For some prisoners, especially those that have spent years or decades of their lives locked up, getting out come with a mixture of overwhelming feelings of happiness and anxiety.
Programs that help inmates re-enter society are critical. The mission of Ambassadors for Truth is to provide programs that make a difference, starting from with the initial hours when an ex-inmate is released and to the months that follow as they work to get their lives back on track. Services include treatment for substance use disorders, housing, job training, job interview training, apprenticeships, employment and, where appropriate, help getting their driver’s licenses and voting rights back. After they get hired by any employer we will have a case manager and job developer who works with them on their career path the first 12 months after they are hired to ensure their success.
